‘Is Yoga good for stress?’ It’s one of the questions I’m often asked as I teach Yoga in and around Cardiff and in my online classes.
My answer is: YES!
Not only is Yoga good for stress, this is one of the best things about it.
When I discovered Yoga more than 20 years ago, I found it didn’t just bring better strength, balance and flexibility, it also helped my mood.

Some 20 years ago, I was in a stressful BBC job.
Juggling work with motherhood and serious family illnesses, my mental health began to suffer.
Yoga came to the rescue.
As my physical strength, balance and flexibility improved, so did my overall wellbeing.
My aim is to help others see transformation through Yoga. I do this by leading students to unite their movements (asanas) with energy and breathing practices (pranayama) and mindfulness.

I left my busy BBC career in 2016 and trained as a Yoga teacher at Yoga Satsanga Ashram in Carmarthenshire.
My qualifications include general hatha Yoga and Yoga for couples, pregnancy and new mothers.
I’ve also had the privilege of learning Yoga therapy with inspirational medical doctor Dr Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani, Director of the Centre for Yoga Therapy Education and Research and Professor of Yoga Therapy at the Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, Pondicherry, India.
Dr Ananda is son and successor of Yogamaharishi Swami Gitananda, Ananda Ashram founder.
